GC Kiwanis Foundation Sponsors Troop 56 Mission Trip

Arthur Anderson, President of Garden City Kiwanis Foundation, presents check to Michael Abatemarco, Eagle Scout in Troop 56, to sponsor Mission Trip to Appalachian Region of Kentucky during August, 2009. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to enhancing a community by providing opportunities to its youth. Kiwanis has a long tradition of encouraging community service activities and leadership programs. The Garden City Kiwanis Foundation has decided to sponsor a Mission Trip by Boy Scout Troop 56 of the Garden City Community Church to the Appalachian Region in Staffordsville, Kentucky. Last summer, the Boy Scouts of Troop 56 volunteered in Grand Bay, Alabama to repair homes and help victims still recovering from Hurricane Katrina.
