Meaghan Young, a senior at Siena College, received a 4.0 during the spring 2009 semester placing her on the Siena College President's List. Students who have earned recognition through the President's List have maintained a grade point average of 3.9 or higher for the semester. "I entered Siena as a Biology major knowing I absolutely wanted to be a doctor. After first semester, the only thing I knew is that I definitely did not want to be a doctor." Earning a disappointing 1.8 GPA her first semester as a freshman, Meaghan changed her major to Psychology and has earned a GPA of 3.50 or better every semester since. She has also been on the board of Siena's drama club for three consecutive years and has performed in numerous plays at Siena and theaters in the Albany area. for two of her performance, Meaghan received a nomination to compete in the national KCACTF Irene Ryan scholarship competition. Continuing her passion for theater Meaghan will be running a theater camp this summer for children ages 6-13 through the Garden City Recreation Department.
Deanna List of Garden City, was named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh.
To be eligible for the dean's list, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 semester grade point average with at least 12 credit hours. A part-time, matriculated student is also eligible for the dean's list after accruing 12 credit hours consecutively and achieving a minimum 3.5 semester grade point average. These credits may be accumulated in more than one semester.
