On June 30, police arrested an 18-year-old Garden City man for criminal mischief to a girlfriend's front door and for another incident where he had spit on her face...Also that day, someone took a $250 Blackberry off a counter at a Recreation office at Adelphi University...On June 26, a 55-year-old Brooklyn woman allegedly stole $283 in items at Lord and Taylor, Franklin Avenue. Two Juicy key chains valued at $48 each and 3 Juicy headbands were taken...On June 22, 11:42 a.m., PO Florio arrested a suspect for aggravated DWI (.18%) , and for not having insurance after his car had allegedly been in a yard at Tannerspond Road and damaged the lawn there and a recycling bin...On June 24, between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., someone took hubcaps off a 2004 Volkswagen parked at the Country Life Press RR station...On June 25, 10:55 a.m., at Clinton Road/Garden Street , PO Hudak arrested a 44-year-old man after observing the flat tire on his car and that the motorist was operating his truck without having a license. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree ( 8 suspensions, 5 dates) and unlicensed operation... Fire Responses:

On July 1, although the victim had already removed his foot from an escalator at 1111 Franklin Avenue, the FD suggested treatment and it was refused. The escalator was then shut down pending inspection...Teens had been seen lighting clothing at the scene of an extinguished rubbish fire at Stratford Avenue on June 26... Speedidry was used after a car accident occurred at Hilton Avenue on June 28...
