Builders Club Supports Tri-town Auxiliary, Remembers Parente Family

2009-07-03 / Community

The Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school students, with more than 40,000 members worldwide, ages 12-14. Builders Club is a "student-led" community service organization, which operates under school regulations and draws its members from the student body. They contribute to a variety of causes through fun, hands-on, student generated activities. Recently the Garden City Middle School Builders Club sold "Remember the Parentes" bracelets after the tragic loss of the entire Parente family. In memory of Betty, Catherine and Stephanie Parente these bracelets were sold and the profits donated to Tri-town Auxiliary of United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County. Betty Parente was a long time board member of this auxiliary and both Catherine and Stephanie attended many of Tri-town's fundraising events. Their spirit will live on and they will not be forgotten. Thank you all Builders Club members and Middle School staff.
