Volunteers Needed

The Garden City Unit of the American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers who can help assist cancer patients.

Every day thousands of cancer patients need a ride to treatment. The Road to Recovery Program provides transportation to and from treatment facilities for individuals with cancer who do not have transportation.

The American Cancer Society's Patient Navigator Program provides guidance for cancer patients, their families and caregivers to help them through the cancer treatment experience in their local hospital.

The volunteers and staff members of the American Cancer Society empower and mobilize communities to prevent cancer, save lives, and diminish suffering. Join over 3 million volunteers in the fight against cancer.

If you are interested in volunteering with either program, please contact Gabrielle Andrea, Director of Patient and Family Services for Nassau County, at (516) 921-6016.
