Second Annual Passport Fair Held at Garden City Public Library
Many families visited the Garden City Library's Passport Fair. Their children enjoyed refreshments and watched DVDs while their parents filled out the required paperwork.
For the second year in a row, the Garden City Public Library invited the U.S. Postal Service to send representatives to process passport applications on Saturday June 13th . Laura Flanagan, reference librarian, made arrangements for the Passport Fair with the Garden City Postmaster Joseph Agricola and Customer Service Supervisor Reena Varghese. Postal Service representatives Rosemarie Perez, Raji Thomas, and Reena Varghese helped over 40 families fill out the required forms and processed the passport applications and renewals. Applicants enjoyed refreshments and had the opportunity to browse travel books or watch a travel DVD to begin planning their next vacation. The fair was coordinated by Reference Librarians Laura Flanagan and Susan Nolan.
