The Bar Association of Nassau County at its 110th Annual Dinner/Dance held at the Marriott Hotel, Uniondale, Long Island honored Edward T. Brown, Esq., a resident at Kingsbury Road, Garden City, New York with a special medal and dinner in the presence of his family and friends on the occasion of his celebrating his Diamond Anniversary of admission to the Bar Association of the State of New York. Upon the president of the Bar Association presenting the special award, Mr. Brown expressed his deep appreciation to the members of the Bar and also mentioned that he is happily married to Marjorie for 61 years and that they have three wonderful children and five grandchildren.

Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts degree as a graduate of Fordham University, and a Bachelor of Laws Degree and a Juris Doctors Degree as a graduate of Georgetown University Law School where he was also a member of the Law Journal Review Staff. Before coming to Long Island, he served in the prestigious Law Department of the Supreme Court, Nassau County. Mr. Brown has been a partner in two New York City law firms, namely Watters & Donovan, and Harnett, Reid and Brown. He was not only admitted to the Bar in New York but he was also admitted to practice in the U.S. Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Customs and the United State Supreme Court. In the Law Directory, Mr. Brown held a very high rating in ability and ethics. Over the years, he has been active in pro bono legal work for many individuals and for the Diocese of Rockville Centre.

Ed is a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific theatre of operations. He is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served as Commander of Legion Post 1089. He is presently Judge Advocate of William Bradford Turner Post 265. Mr. Brown is a former member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association and the Queens County Bar Association; the Brooklyn/Manhattan Trial Counsel Association and the New York State Defender. Mr. Brown is a former member of the Board of Directors and Associate Council of Morality In Media, Inc; Charter member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Long Island and Past President thereof; founder and past president of the Fordham University Club of Long Island; and former member of Board of Directors of Georgetown University Club of New York. He was Council to the Board of Title Underwriters and Executive Vice President of the New York State Land Title Association, and has received plaques and citations from many of the former Associations. Mr. Brown also served on the Ten Man Committee of Garden City East. He has recently retired.
