Trey Puentes and his father enjoyed the performance. Miss McCavera's second graders recently presented their final class play of the school year - the teddy bear hero. Tagalong teddy is the main character of this play. The other bears don't want to be around her because she is red, white and blue, instead of brown. She is proud of the colors because they are the colors of the American flag. Some picnic friends share information about the history of the American flag. The teddy bears learn interesting facts and welcome Tagalong and the boys and girls to their 4 th of July picnic. The play ends with the students singing, "You're A Grand Old Flag." Audience members were each given small American Flags as they arrived for the play and were encouraged to join in the song. Each student also prepared and presented a favorite poem form the past school year. It was a wonderful way to close out the school year in second grade.
