Congratulations to Laura Wysocki, a senior at Garden City High School, who received a $500.00 scholarship from Dr. Denise Emma. The Dr. Denise Emma Healthcare Scholarship is given annually to a graduating senior who intends to pursue a career in the health field. Laura expressed her desire to pursue a career in dentistry. She shadowed her dentist and orthodontist to more fully understand their careers and finalize her decision. Laura enjoys working with children and has devoted countless hours volunteering in sports programs for children with special needs. She initiated and chaired a trophy-recycling program with the Mercy First organization providing more than 350 trophies to children in underprivileged communities. It is through these selfless acts of character that Laura truly signifies the meaning behind a career in the field of health care. Congratulations Laura and thank you Dr. Emma!
