The William Bradford Turner Post #265, American Legion, is pleased to announce the award of a four year scholarship to Garden City resident Allyson Maclay to Hofstra University. Each year the Post interviews candidates from the Senior Class of Garden City High School. The students must signify intent to attend Hofstra University and present marks and background to the interviewing committee. Over the past years the Post would provide $16,000 but recently due to money tightness the award is limited to $8,000.

We wish to congratulate Allyson and wish her well in the next four academic years.

In addition the American Legion Post #265 will send Michael Abatemorio and Thomas Elustondo to a fully paid week at "Boys State" where they will participate in government studies in a fictitious government. This is a great opportunity to include the study on your resume'. Note that former President Bill Clinton attended "Boys State."
