This past Saturday the Garden City U12 Patriettes completed their season with a match against the Stony Brook Elite. The two teams had played each other in the fall where the Elite beat the Patriettes 3-0 game. The game started out with the Elite in a very offensive mindset. More ... During its 2009 spring season, the Chaminade High School tennis team won its 3rd consecutive league title and its record 25th tennis title in the Nassau Suffolk Catholic High School Athletic Association league. For the last 37 years, Coach Jim Quinn has been at the helm for Chaminade, and has guided his tennis teams to 25 League Championships. More ... The GC Wildcats have continued their soccer season in LIJSL Division 1 this Spring. On June 6th the Wildcats returned home to Nasssau Haven after six road games and celebrated the annual Centennial Soccerfest with a 4-0 win over Farmingdale. The win extended their record to 13-3-1 since beginning play last Fall. More ... On Thursday night June 4th, the St. Anne's Track Team competed in the CYO Regional Qualifiers. Led by the individual 1st place finishes of Jen Gerland (6th grade-mile), Stephanie Gerland (5th grade-mile) and Laurel Fisher (6th grade 800 meters); coupled with four additional 1st place finishes by the 8th grade girls, the St. Anne's Girls Team won the night. More ... The girls State Qualifier meet for Section VIII was held at Westbury HS last week and the Trojan runners were again very successful. Having worked extremely hard for coaches Cuzzo, Fregosi and Skrivanek all season, but even more focused as they come down the stretch, the girls and coaches are continually rewarded with top performances. As the Warriors neared the end of what became a very tough season in Division 2 of the Long Island Junior Soccer League, they had hoped to finish off a very good run in the State Cup Challenge with a victory over the Woodhaven Warriors this past Saturday. More ... After a rainy week, the sun was shining and the Garden City Power were ready to play the Bayside All Starz at St. Paul's. The team was coming off their fourth win in a row and wanted to come out strong. More ... On the turf fields at Skelos Park in Rockville Center, the GC Xtreme continued their streak of playing very competitive and exciting soccer last Saturday.
