SEPTA Spring Fair Will No Longer Be Held

2009-06-12 / School

Garden City Special Education PTA will not be holding the annual SEPTA Spring Fair on Friday, June 12th. Unfortunately, due to current restrictions by the New York State PTA which severely limit the type of activities allowable at the Seventh Street Spring Fair, SEPTA will no longer be able to sponsor the fair. SEPTA will continue to have fundraising activities with the annual PTA/SEPTA Sportswear Sale in the fall and the Lord & Taylor Benefit Bash in the spring.

Similar to Garden City PTA, SEPTA is a separate, not-for-profit organization that embraces all of the public schools in Garden City. Board members are parents from every school who represent SEPTA at the building level and on district committees. Through its grant program SEPTA funds and facilitates many worthwhile programs for students. SEPTA supports socialization programs in the elementary, middle and high schools, provides innovative reading and testing technologies and gives character awards to four deserving high school seniors.

The SEPTA Executive Board would like to thank members of the community for their kindness and generosity in supporting the SEPTA Spring Fair over the past 12 years. Look for SEPTA's annual membership drive in the fall.
