Nassau County Traffic Safety Educator Chris Mistron explains the right and wrong way of installing a car seat to representatives of the media.
Nassau County Traffic Safety Educator Chris Mistron explains the right and wrong way of installing a car seat to representatives of the media. Assemblyman Tom McKevitt recently sponsored a Car Seat Safety Event where community members with young children were able to come and get a first hand lesson on proper car seat methods. Assemblyman McKevitt also learned the exact way to keep his 2-year old son buckled up safe while driving.

"Holding an event like this is a great opportunity for parents, like myself, to get a better understanding of ways to keep our children safer in vehicles. It is very important that car seats are properly installed and children are correctly buckled in."

With the great help of Nassau County Traffic Safety Educator Chris Mistron, families from around the district were able to become more knowledgeable on proper car seat safety. Safety Educator Mistron carefully took each family through the installation procedure and described other methods to keep children safe while driving.
