The two teams know each other well and have built a friendly rivalry. As the match started, the Xtreme got off to awesome start and had the Arsenal under tremendous pressure. Winning one ball after another, the team got forward moving the ball down the sides of the field. In the corners, the outside Xtreme players sent in perfectly lofted balls into the Syosset penalty area. Nine minutes into the match, Alison Holfester scored a goal from a precession pass by Cailee McCarthy, only to have the referee not allow it on a questionable off sides call. Undeterred, the Xtreme kept getting to the ball first and had control of the match in the first half. The Arsenal did neutralize the match to some degree in the second half. Spectators witnessed some epic battles for possession in the middle third. The Xtreme played their hearts out and deserved the victory, but the Syosset team did score a goal in each half and won the match 2-0.

The team is in Rockville Center on Saturday to play the neighboring RVC Rage.
