Nicolette Giammona keeps the ball away from the opponent It was a beautiful spring day when the Garden City Power came to play the Albertson Tigers at Harbor Links. The mood of the Power was positive and determined to keep their winning streak alive. The Power dominated the first half with crisp and accurate play from the frontline of Ariana Kerantzas, Fiona MacLeod, Morgayne Rix and Jamie Silk, supported by the tough play of the midfielders Angela Coen (2nd half), Emma Gong, Claire Murphy, Katie O'Sullivan (1st half) and Allison Schmidt. The defense of Sara Biscardi, Katie DeGearo, Nicolette Giammona and Danielle Ventre did an excellent job clearing the ball to the offensive side. Early on in the first half, Fiona MacLeod found the back of the net when the Albertson goalie was out of position! Angela Coen, as goalie in the first half, proved fearless in defending the goal keeping Albertson scoreless in the first half. At half time the Power were leading 1 - 0, although they knew they would have to play with precision and tenacity in the second half in order to be victorious.

The second half began with the Albertson Tigers playing aggressive, although the Power did not let up on their game. Katie O'Sullivan played a highly determined goalie in the second half, successfully blocking several shots. The score remained 1 -0 until about midway of the half when Fiona MacLeod scored her second goal of the game with the assist from Morgayne Rix. With only about two minutes to go the Albertson Tigers finally scored making it 2 - 1, but the whistle blew giving the Power their fourth victory in a row! What a great effort by all, and the excellent coaching of Lavaune Gong and Joanne Silk.
