By now all GCHS seniors should have received their invitation to the TMA sponsored Class of 2009 Luau Pool Party. Key/Interact Club On Saturday, June 6, the Garden City High School, Key/Interact Club will be hosting their Annual Car Wash from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the school parking lot. Nassau County Comptroller Howard Weitzman recently awarded Jonathan Zarkin from Garden City High School with the 2009 Comptroller Achievement Award. This is the 7th year that Weitzman has presented his Comptroller Achievement Awards, which honor students who excel in economics, accounting or finance, and who have demonstrated a commitment to community service. More ... Saint Anne's of Garden City's fourth grade faith formation class worked tirelessly this year to raise money for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering's Glenn D. Kesselhaut Children's Joy Fund. Insler is pleased to announce, after a national search, the appointment of Dr. Jane Ashdown to the position of dean of the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education. Last week marked the highlight of the Garden City Homestead School's Annual First Grade "Spring Sing" pageant, which was a big hit with children and adults alike. Samantha Jean Cheng Chu of Garden City, was awarded a bachelor of arts degree at Wellesley College on Friday, June 5. Garden City High School's environmental club, Hands on Protecting the Environment (H.O.P.E.), had another fun and rewarding year. Not only did the club surpass the prior success of their annual events, but they also began new traditions that got off to a great start. More ...
