On the trail to the Lemon Squeezer atop of Bald Rocks
On the trail to the Lemon Squeezer atop of Bald Rocks The Scouts of Troop 80, Garden City threw on their back packs and started up the trail to the Lemon Squeezer in Harriman State Park, NY on May 16 2009. The day was foggy but spirits were high for the 10 mile trek. They also took a side trip to the Boston Mine which is located on the Dunning Trail. The mine was last used in 1880. From there it was up to the Lemon Squeezer and then to the shelter at Black Rock. Staying over night at the shelter, munching on MRE's (meals ready to eat) and a nice fire were the closing of a great day. On Sunday we hiked to view the vistas then it was back to the car and home.

The trip was great fun for all. If you would like to know more about what Troop 80 does contact Scoutmaster Wayne Bauman at scoutmaster@troop80.org
