Talent Search Winners
Garden City resident Christopher White, a sixth grade student at the Green Vale School in Old Brookville, was just named a state winner in the 2009 Johns Hopkins Talent Search for both the verbal and math SCAT test scores he earned this spring. Six Green Vale School students, based on their exceptional scores on SCAT and SAT exams, are winners in the 2009 Johns Hopkins Talent Search. These students are, from left to right, Phillip Decker (Grade 7, Distinguished Award for Verbal and Math SATs), Carter Morgan (Grade 6, State Winner in Math), Christopher White (Grade 6, State Winner in Verbal and Math), Davis Leonard (Grade 7, State Winner for Verbal SAT), Ethan Nyein (Grade 8, Distinguished Award for Math SAT) and Christopher Sutherland (Grade 6, State Winner in Verbal and Math). In the back row is Mr. Joseph Quartararo, Math Department Chair at The Green Vale School, who pointed out that, "Davis Leonard's Verbal SAT score was in the top one percent of all seventh grade students across the country." Congratulations to all!
