L-R: James Crowley, Andrew Luglio, Chase Gladd, Ryan Schmidt, TJ Schmitt, Garrett Zander, and James Cashwell throw out the first pitches of the game On Sunday, May 3 rd, a group of U-8/9 GC boys were kindly invited by Adelphi University and their Men's Baseball Team and head Coach Dom Scala to their game on "Senior Day" against C.W. Post. Under the supervision of Coach Scala, the boys took to the impressive turf field and took their cuts in batting practice, fielded grounders, worked on forceouts and double plays, made cutoffs from the vast outfield, warmed up pitching in the bullpen, and roamed the home dugout.

The entire Adelphi Men's Team including Garden City's Ryan Boelsen graciously signed baseballs and media guides for the boys, and the boys threw out the first pitches of the game. Many thanks to Adelphi University, president Robert A. Scott, Athletic Director Robert Hartwell, Head coach Dom Scala, Georgette Brown and the Recreation Department, and the Adelphi players for going above and beyond to make this a memorable event for the boys.
