Student teacher Miss Elizabeth Lione is joined by her mother on this special day Miss McCavera's second grade class celebrated Mother's Day in their classroom with a brunch and presentation for their special guests. Mothers were treated to muffins made with the help of many generous fathers, a special song and five poems about mothers and how special they are. Each child decorated a pretty paper watering can with flower seeds to plant together. Each mother also received a homemade corsage and a coupon took to redeem for some help around the house.

the children had spent many weeks preparing for this special morning. They worked on orally presenting the poems with correct pronunciation and expression. They wrote describing words and phrases to describe their mother. They put these on special flowers that they displayed in the classroom. With all their preparation and hard work, the students gave their mothers the gift of a wonderful morning together.
