Homestead School students in Mrs. Christine Oppedisano's 1st grade class and Mrs. Sara Santeramo's 4th grade class from the Stratford School shared a morning of reading their favorite picture books. The fourth graders guided their first grade buddies in the traits of good writing as they summarized the stories. Each "buddy" group focused on sentence fluency and organization. The groups then created illustrations to accompany their writings. The reading buddies will continue to keep in touch with letter-writing through the end of the school year.
