Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Garden City, and its new church, THE LIFE Church in Old Westbury, were recognized by the faculty, staff, and students of Long Island Lutheran Middle & High School with a grant form the LUTHERAN CRUSADER FUND during a special on-campus Chapel service recently.

Provided by an anonymous donor in 1998, a generous $1 million contribution enabled LuHi, located in Brookville, Long Island, to establish the LUTHERAN CRUSADER FUND (LCF). The focus of the LCF is the creation and enhancement of innovative programs that benefit Christian institutions and support people and organizations in times of significant crisis or need. To date, over $900,000 has been awarded to 300 deserving organizations through the LCF.

Lutheran Church of the Resurrection is a multi-site Christian community of faith, with its main campus located in Garden City. Its second campus, THE LIFE Church, is located at 1 Old Westbury Rd., at Jericho Tpke., in Old Westbury. Rev. Jeff Browning, Resurrection's senior pastor, said funds from the $1,000 grant will be used for interior improvements at THE LIFE. For more information, visit www.resgc.org .
