Six Gun, Long Island's premier country band Two local bands will be performing at the Garden City Belmont Festival on Friday, June 5. Six Gun - formed more than 20 years ago - has performed at the Belmont Festival every year since its inception. Fivestone, a five person contemporary and classic rock band, will make its inaugural performance at the festival.

The Garden City Belmont Festival will take place on Seventh Street between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. The evening's headliner is Afterburner, the United States Air Force Band of Liberty rock band. The Garden City Belmont Festival will also feature a children's art contest, hosted by Sunflower Fine Art Gallery, and a chicken wing competition. All attendees are encouraged to wear red, white and blue to dovetail with the theme of this year's festival: A Salute to America. The Garden City Belmont Festival will also feature clowns, face painters, the Belmont Park starting gate and Sammy the Bugler from Belmont Park. The 141st running of the $1 million Belmont Stakes, the third and final leg of the Triple Crown for three-year-olds, will be held on Saturday, June 6 at historic Belmont Park.
