Boys Varsity Lacrosse Hosts Hewlett

Garden City's boys lacrosse team played host to the Hewlett Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon, May 12th. The Trojans had a 6-2 lead going into the half and added five more goals in the second half to go on to win 11-5. Mike Lind and Will Fuller each had three goals for the Trojans. (Fuller also had 3 assists). Also scoring for GC: Vin Chiodo (2 goals, 1 assist), Connor Dwyer (1 goal), Devin Dwyer (1 goal), and Brian Fischer (1 goal, 1 assist). Patric Berkery also had an assist for GC. Brendan Engelke made 7 saves in goal for the Trojans.
Two days later the Trojans traveled to New Hyde Park to take on the Gladiators for the last regular season game before the playoffs. The Trojans won the game 10-3 giving them an 8-0 Conference II record and a 13-3 overall record. Will Fuller had three goals and 1 assist. Also scoring for GC were: Tom Gordon (2 goals), Mark Fischer (2 goals), Conor Dwyer (1 goal), Stephen Jahelka (1 goal), and Devin Dwyer (1 goal, 4 assists). Mike Lind and Matt Montgomery also had one assist each. Coach Finnell mixed it up and had four different players in goal: Brendan Engelke (2 saves), Chris Connors (2 saves), Alex Castronovo (2 saves), and Tim Moynihan (1 save).

The Trojans began the playoffs on Wednesday May 20th, but that game occurred too late for this edition.
