Leprechaun Warriors On The Road

2009-05-22 / Sports

On Mother's Day weekend the Leprechaun Warriors went on the road to play a very tough and talented Wantagh team. The sun was shining for the Leprechaun Warriors Mothers and the boys were ready to make them proud, however it was not meant to be. With the Warriors dealing with bumpy(and I do mean bumpy) field conditions and very physical Wantagh team, GC went down 3-0 then came storming back in the 4th quarter for 3 goals with Wantagh scoring 1, before missing a chance to tie the score with 40seconds left.

The Warriors Mom's would be proud of the effort their son's played with and also with the Hot Pink Lacrosse Balls they received from their sons. Fast forward to May 17th the weather wasn't as nice, but at least no rain. The Warriors took on the Northshore 3rd graders for their last home game of the season. They defended their turf and put on a gutsy display of teamwork and stick checking.

The Leprechaun Warriors rebounded from their 1st loss of the season and put together a master piece with great passing and great defense. After a almost scoreless first half of playing for both teams. Thanks to Kdog in goal. The Warriors were asked by their coach to score 3 goals in the 3rd quarter and so they did. I guess they are starting to listen to their coaches. Coach Connolly will do some running at practice next week. Great Job by all the Leprechaun Warriors and thank you parents for constantly being at the games and cheering us on.
