Garden City Retired Men's Club Calendar Of Events
The Garden City Retired Men's Club is a non-profit membership organization formed in April 1961 for the purpose of providing educational and recreational activities for the retired male senior citizens of the Garden City Community. The organization is non-sectarian and non-political.
All retired men 55 years or older residing in the Incorporated Village of Garden City, in the state of New York are eligible for membership upon paying a five (5) dollar initiation fee. If you are eligible and interested in joining us, please come by. Every Monday is Open House. Or call Joe Leto at 248-9022.
The Club House facility is located at No. 6 Golf Club Lane (directly behind Lord & Taylor parking lot). The building is open every day of the week, except Friday, and offers two regulation size pool tables, television, cards/table board games as well as outdoor bocce, horseshoes and shuffleboard. Our Program Committee is planning a very active speaker program. You are invited to join us!

It's Pizza Time
Thursday May 28th is the date for our next Pizza Party. Rudy Kaiser has his apron on and is rolling out the dough. He is ready to prepare pepperoni, mushroom, plain cheese and even anchovy, just for you. Come early, have a cold drink and enjoy the rest of the afternoon with a great group of fellow retirees. Play a little bridge, poker, cribbage or shoot some pool. No matter what you choose you will be happy you chose to come. The price $8.00, includes $2.00 for lucky bucks.

Cookout/Birthday Party For 70 And 75 Year Olds
The invitations have been mailed and the responses are coming in. The first annual cookout/birthday party for our 70 and 75 year old members is on the way. Mark the date, Thursday, June 18th and plan to come. The price is $13.00 and includes $2.00 for lucky bucks. 1-2-3-4-Let's exercise some more .... Swine flu, or any flu is a serious matter particularly in our age group. Take proper precaution. Run to your doctor at the first sign of congestion or disorder. Visit the Recreation Department FREE exercise program at the St. Paul complex any Monday, Wednesday or Friday, two sessions each day one at 9:15 a.m. and one at 10:30 a.m. Stop by and let Felicia help you get back in shape. No appointments, no commitment, just show up when you have the time and inclination. Try it, you'll love it.

Two more weeks and our bowling season will be over. Friday May 29th is our last bowl date for this season. You can still have some fun and exercise at the same time. It is time to help some of our fellow retirees step out of the house and smell the roses. If you are, or know of someone who is, a shut-in and cannot get to the club for lack of transportation let us know. We will do our best to arrange a member-member pick-up and take-home service.
