Lauren Heinz, a junior in American University's College of Arts & Sciences majoring in economics, was named to the fall 2008 Dean's List. Heinz is a resident of Garden City Sound, NY.
To earn Dean's List at American University a student must obtain a 3.5 grade point average or better on their semester courses.
The following residents earned undergraduate degrees from the State University of New York at New Paltz:
Sheila Casey of Garden City, received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting.
Peter Cianciotto of Garden City, received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Katherine Ketigian of Garden City, received a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Education 1-6.
Allison Rizzo of Garden City, received a Bachelor of Science in General Business.
The college conferred bachelor's degrees upon 1,145 students in May 2009.

Kimberly McEntee, a junior at Fairfield University and a resident of Garden City, NY, was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international honor society recognizing the outstanding academic achievements of students enrolled in collegiate business programs accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The ceremony took place on April 19. At Fairfield, the top 10 percent of juniors are eligible for membership in the University's Beta Gamma Sigma chapter, which was established in 1998.
The daughter of Aileen and Mark McEntee and a graduate of Garden City High School, she is majoring in Finance in the Charles F. Dolan School of Business.
On March 29 th, Kimberly was also inducted into Alpha Mu Gamma, The National Collegiate Foreign Language Honor Society in recognition of excellence in the study of Spanish.
