Emily Tudisco (center), an eleventh grader at Garden City High School, pictured here with Mr. Carlo Rebolini, Advanced Placement Language & Composition teacher and Ms. Catherine Oriani, high school English teacher and the high school's Ink Spots adviser, was awarded the General Excellence Award for Juniors in Adelphi University's 2009 Poetry Festival held on April 23rd. Works by students from more than 10 Long Island school districts were submitted, with an Award of Excellence given to one Long Island freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior. The competition lasted the entire school day with students submitting up to 10 pages of poetry. This was Emily's first time entering Adelphi's poetry competition.
