School Transportation Personnel Appreciation Week
      Did you know that Garden City Public Schools Transportation Department coordinates and buses 3,849 students throughout the district and to private schools every day of the school year? Each morning 50 buses depart the district's Bus Garage on Cherry Valley Avenue and transport students to their schools. In the afternoon, 53 bus routes carry the students safely home to their parents.

GCHS Student Wins Adelphi Poetry Award

Garden City Students Vote On Budget Vote Day
      In conjunction with this year's Garden City Public Schools Budget Vote on Tuesday, May 12, 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. in the high school Cafeteria, 170 Rockaway Avenue, students in Garden City's primary and elementary schools will be learning about the democratic process as they take part in the decision-making process at each of the school buildings.

      Students in Mrs. Connolly's fifth grade class, along with their second grade buddies in Miss Nicolini's class, have been working hard on restoring the beauty of Stratford's garden. They've raked leaves, pulled weeds, and planted an array of perennials and annuals to bring new life to the garden.

      Lauren Heinz, a junior in American University's College of Arts & Sciences majoring in economics, was named to the fall 2008 Dean's List. Heinz is a resident of Garden City Sound, NY. To earn Dean's List at American University a student must obtain a 3.5 grade point average or better on their semester courses.
