Women's Agenda Seminar Aims to Inspire
Long Island Women's Agenda (LIWA) will present the seminar "Positive Energy in Changing Times: What you can do for yourself, your organization, and your community" on Thursday, June 18, at Adelphi University's Alumni Center, 154 Cambridge Avenue, Garden City.
LIWA's Leadership Council, comprising the presidents and executive directors of its not-for-profit organization members, is offering the seminar in response to a perceived need for individuals and organizations to cope with the evolving and often stressful economic turbulence that may upend established routines and expectations.
Registration opens at 5:30 pm with a networking hour and light food. From 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, the panel of three professionals will present the program and take questions. The panelists are:
- Dr. Susan Bartell, a nationally recognized psychologist and author, who will discuss how individuals can effectively deal with change;
- Pia Riverso, Esq., a partner at Rivkin Radler LLP, who will address the issues that confront individuals in times of financial change;
- Ivy Algazy, Director of Communications for Women's Health Services, North Shore/LIJ Health System, who will address how both individuals and organizations can collaborate to be effective in a changing world.
LIWA members may register for $10 and non-members for $15. Individual annual membership to LIWA is available for $35.
LIWA is a not-for-profit coalition of women's organizations and individuals that provides a voice for Long Island women on issues, policies and programs affecting those living and working on the Island.
