Team Spirit!
Team Spirit! The rain did not get them down! It was under cloudy skies and in muddy conditions that the Garden City Third Grade Girls Grey Lacrosse team played a tough game and came out with a win against North Shore. Each and every girl played with intensity and great effort was showed by all. Both teams exhibited good passing skills and were evenly matched. Emma Cashwell caught four passes with a passion for play. Olivia Ostrowski, Caitlin Bianchi, Caroline Dolan, Melissa Whitney and Annie Sullivan each caught two. Jennifer and Abby Paisley also caught passes during this very wet game! All the girls are passing nicely.

The girls again showed superior lacrosse skills by catching, throwing, and scooping better than their opponent. Ground balls were amazing and everyone knows... ground balls win games! Melissa Whitney and Emma Cashwell each had nine, while Kelly Higgins and Annie Sullivan both had six. Add four more ground balls each for Olivia Ostrowski, Julia Kavan, Caroline Dolan and Abby Paisley. Catherine Mulvihill, Jennifer and Allie Hildreth had three ground balls each, while Lauren Hammersley and Lauren Skramko had two apiece. Georgia Casola, Lauren Scattareggia, Sophia Leiter and Caitlin Bianchi each fought for one of their own. This shows how much fight these girls have.

Goals were spread among several of the players, despite the ardent play of the goalies on both sides of the field. Goal scorers were Kelly O'Keeffe, Emma Cashwell, Melissa Whitney, Abby Paisley, and Annie Sullivan each with one and an amazing two goals by Jennifer M!

Grey Team's goalie Caitlin Cobb had... not 1... not 2 ... not 3... but 4 big saves in Goal. She did an amazing job. Delaney Comerfort was playing strong as middie and running and ruling the field. Kaleigh Donovan was really hustling and had a nice shot on goal. This was a competitive game that led to a 7-6 hold and a victory for Garden City!

Way to go girls! Thanks to the Higgins sisters for helping out!
