To the surprise of no one, this match was another very exciting and very evenly played match. Justice was served and the match was a draw, 1-1.

As the first half began, the Red Devils had the Xtreme defense under pressure. Strong, skilled, and fast, the East Islip forwards were capable of scoring from anywhere within 25 yards. Keeper Shannon Tierney was tested but was unbeatable. The back line of Lenna Codignotto, Deanna DiPierro and Alicia Mueller used their quickness and muscle to shut down the Red Devils. Katie Roscoe, Sam Miesemer and Laurel Fisher were given assignment to guard the most dangerous attackers; all did an awesome job shutting down their mark. As the half progressed, the Xtreme had success using the long ball to create scoring opportunities. Eighteen minutes in the half, the Xtreme were awarded a free kick. Deanna put her team ahead from 22 yards out, a spectular free kick into the upper corner. Up front, Joanna Sokolovic, Lauren Miesemer and Cailee McCarthy continued to move the ball with precision, adding to the Xtreme scoring chances.

Jenna Codignotto goes to play the long ball Up 1-0 at half, the Xtreme knew the match was certainly up for grabs as the East Islip team had a very potent offense. Kristin Adams, Kelsey Whitney and Cara Adams were in the midfield, battling for possession time and time again. This unit worked endlessly to disrupt the Red Devils from building up any scoring chance. Laurel Fisher was the second half keeper, the Fish played brilliantly. With 14 minutes remaining in the match, the Red Devils left forward sent in an unstoppable shot to tie the match. Now it was anyone's match. The midfield of Isabel McKeown, Alison Holfester and Colette Seel showed un-weilding determination and started winning one un-possessed ball after another; the Xtreme had the Red Devils backing up. This pressure forced a couple of corners, but the Xtreme just couldn't put another ball into the goal.

A good effort from both teams and a well played match.
