Children's And Youth Ethics Program

2009-05-08 / Community

The Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island is hosting an open house for its Children's Ethics Program (for children ages 4 to 12) and its Youth for Ethical Societies (for teens) on Thursday, May 14, at 7:30 p.m., for enrollment in Sunday classes starting in the fall.

The Children's Ethics Program and YES program teach core values of honesty, integrity, citizenship, compassion and ethics in a curriculum that incorporates classroom teaching, field trips and social action projects. Comparative religion is explored by examining the belief systems of many faiths, without suggesting that any one faith is superior to the others. As an alternative to traditional religious education or as an adjunct to it, the programs teach children to embrace our motto, "Create a caring world."

Babysitting is available and refreshments will be served. The Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island is located at 38 Old Country Road in Garden City. For more information, call 741-7304.
