Arrest Made In Office Burglaries

The Garden City Police Department have reported the details of an arrest for a burglary that occurred on Sunday, May 3, at 5:03 P.M. in Garden City.

As a result of numerous commercial burglaries over the past several weeks in Garden City as well as in surrounding jurisdictions, Garden City Detectives conducted intensive patrols and surveillance details in the Garden City Business District. As a result of these details, the defendant, Michael B. Ellis, 45, of Uniondale, was observed unlawfully entering an office building at 370 Old Country Rd. during non business hours at which time police say he removed two laptop computers from an office.

The defendant was stopped on Old Country Rd. at Ivy Ct. and placed under arrest. Ellis is charged with Burglary 3rd Degree. As a result of this arrest, numerous Garden City cases as well as Nassau County 3rd and 5th Precinct cases were closed and several more remain under investigation.
