GCYL Leprechaun Warriors Rough It Out
The Roughriders of Oyster Bay came to town on Sunday to play the GC Leprechaun Warriors in a highly contested game in 3rd grade boys lacrosse. The Roughriders lived up to their name with some big hits and big checks, however the the and soul of the GC LW's took control early and jumped out to a 3-0 lead. GC held in their despite having only 3 bench players and it being extremely hot at the field. The Roughriders scored 2 late goals to make it 3-2 at half. With GC reenergized with fluids at half, the 2nd half started like the first with some outstanding stick dropping checks and complete dominance of the ground balls. The GC LW's responded to their coaches lack of voice and the refs lopsided game calling and went about their business and completed a 6-3 win over the Roughriders. Next up for the LW's is the Syosset team this weekend at St. Pauls at 10:30am so come on by and watch the Leprechaun Warriors defend their pot of gold(St. Paul's Field) Thanks to all the parents who have supported the coaches all season and also thank you to all the coaches for their time and effort. Last but not least thank you Leprechaun Warriors for making the coaching staff look soo good.
