Seniors Connections Forum On Education In Retirement
The Garden City Public Library will host "Education in Retirement", the third and final program in a series of Spring Senior Connections Public Forums. The program will be held on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009 from 1:30 - 3 PM in the large meeting room on the Library's lower level. Refreshments will be served and an elevator is available. No registration is required.
Education is a golden opportunity for retirees to continue their learning while meeting new people of similar age and varied interests. Walter Chaskel will discuss the Institute for Learning in Retirement at Farmingdale State University, which is an educational program for mature learners designed to provide lifelong learning experiences. Mr. Chaskel, who is a volunteer Ambassador for Elderhostel, will also explain the educational opportunities with Elderhostel, a travel program for adults fifty-five years and older.
Senior Connections has been operating a variety of programs and services at the Garden City Public Library since 1985. For more information on the upcoming forum, please call the Garden City Library at 742-8405.
