Garden City Business Leader Honored By SUNY

Farmingdale State College President W. Hubert Keen is pleased to announce that, president of the Albanese Organization in Garden City will receive Honorary Doctor of Science degrees at the college's 90th commencement exercise on Sunday, May 17.

Russell C. Albanese has demonstrated national leadership in environmentally responsible construction and renovations of both residential and commercial properties. The Albanese organization was the first to retrofit a building on Long Island that received a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Certified Class A rating. Albanese has generously collaborated with the faculty on energy-related issues and is dedicated to the educational and environmental sustainability of the Long Island community. Albanese earned a bachelor's degree in engineering at Duke University.

The Doctor of Science degree is conferred by the State University of New York to recognize excellence and extraordinary achievement, especially those who serve as examples of the University aspirations for its students.
