Mercy Medical Center, whose Bariatric Surgery Program is ranked highest in New York State 2008/2009 by the HealthGrades(r) national hospital rating company, is now offering a Facilitated Support Group for post bariatric surgery patients.

The weekly, 12-session program will be conducted by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals with combined experience of more than thirty years in assisting with the lifelong commitment and lifestyle modifications required to assure continued success for individuals who have undergone weight-loss surgery.

The program's Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Dietitian and Certified Physical Therapist Assistant will focus on a broad range of issues including healthy behaviors, stress-reduction, social relationships, exercise, and prevention of relapse into old eating habits.

The support group will be limited in size to assure personal attention, and will meet Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. beginning May 6th and running through

July 22nd. The fee for the 12-session program is $350.
