Friends To Sponsor Book Signing

2009-04-17 / Community

The Friends of The Garden City Public Library cordially invite all Village residents to meet local author Arthur G. Typermass on Tuesday, May 5th at 1:30 p.m. when he will autograph copies of Talking to My Hand, a collection of seven short stories laced with, wisdom and misadventures.

Excerpts from two of the stories will be read by George Papoulas, Marjorie Maher and Sal Catania former members of The Garden City Readers Theatre.

A long time resident of Garden City, Mr. Typermass retired in the late 1990's following a successful career in financial management and investments. He began writing essays for the Discovery section of The Garden City News, which he continues doing to this day. His articles focus primarily on social observations and wry commentary on aspects of popular culture.

In 2004, his first book My Thoughts Exactly was published. It was comprised of several Discovery articles along with short fictional pieces. Many of the stories in both anthologies bear an uncanny resonance to current events.

Mr. Typermass has graciously announced that he will donate all proceeds from the sale of his book to The Friends of the Library.
