Mark Twain To Visit Garden City
      Prepare to be amused! Mark Twain, the famous American humorist and author of such classics as Tom Sawyer, The Prince and the Pauper, and Huckleberry Finn is visiting Garden City and has agreed to schedule a lecture for the benefit of the Garden City Bird Sanctuary. It is rumored that even A T Stewart is rolling in his grave upon hearing that Mark Twain is in town.

Cathedral Youth Plan Mission Trip Fund Raiser
      On Sunday, April 26, the Journey to Adulthood (J2A) Class of the Cathedral of the Incarnation will be holding a combination Car Wash-Bake Sale-Book Sale-Hot Dog Lunch Stand to raise money for Mission Trip 2010. The fund raiser will be held in the parking lot of The Cathedral House at 50 Cathedral Avenue from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m.

      An experience in Antarctic is one worth remembering. Garden City AAUW invites you to such an encounter at its Book & Author Luncheon, Friday May 8 from 12-3:30 p.m. at the Swan Club in Glenwood Landing. John Hanc, author of his just released book, "The Coolest Race on Earth" will transport all present to treeless Antarctica known as the "Last Place on Earth" by marathon runners.

Easter Sunday Events At The Cathedral
      The 9:30 a.m. Family Mass at the Episcopal Cathedral of the Incarnation featured many special events for the younger members of the church. At the end of the Mass, each child was allowed to approach the steps to the chancel and choose a flowering plant to take home with them and transplant into their garden to remind them of the resurrection of Jesus on Easter.
