Carol I. Baker Carol I. Baker, of Garden City, died peacefully on March 22 at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of Thomas Henry Baker who predeceased her in June 1984. She is survived by her loving sister Noel McCullough and her husband Willard. Sidney Dickey and her husband John. Dear Aunt of Connie McCullough, Juliana Serino and the late Andrew J. Dickey. Beloved great aunt to Joann Weiner, Sondra Verlander and Caroline Serino. Born in Mount Vernon, NY on March 6, 1926 to Arthur J.G Illian and Lillian White, she spent most of her life in Garden City, NY, Chicago, IL and Palm Beach FL. She was an avid reader, loved working in her garden and also had a great admiration for animals. For many years she served as a volunteer at the Garden City public library and Nearly New Shop at Cathedral of Incarnation. A memorial celebration will be held on Friday, April 24th at 11:00am at the Cathedral of Incarnation in Garden City. Paul. J. Leparik Mr. Paul J. Leparik, age 45, beloved husband of Teresa Bunn Leparik of Milford, passed away on Thursday April 2, 2009 surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. Son of Elizabeth Schmidt Leparik of Garden City, and the late Gerhardt Leparik; Paul was born on April 5, 1963 in Bronx, NY. He was a computer programmer for 23 years at New York Life Insurance Company. Paul was a graduate of Chaminade High School of Mineola, NY, class of 1981 and a graduate of Adelphi University, Garden City, class of 1985, where he was a pitcher for the Adelphi Panther baseball team. Paul was fondly known by his teammates as "Dirt" and broke many of the Panther baseball records. In addition to his beloved wife of 13 years and mother, Paul is survived by three cherished children: Paul, Alexandra and Ashley as well as a brother, Frank Leparik and his wife Denise of Greenlawn, NY. Mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and John Bunn, stepfather, Stanley Wataras of Garden City, brothers-in-law, Jeff Bunn and John P. Bunn III and his wife Cherie, and sister-in-law Donna Alderman and her husband David, all of Chesapeake, VA, and nieces Kathryn, Gabrielle, Francesca, Michelle, and Maralei and nephews David II, Daniel, and John IV, and many much loved aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday April 6 at St. Gabriel Church, Milford. Committal was private.
