Senior walking program

Our Senior walking group has become so popular that we are adding a day! Our group will now meet at Cluett Hall at 2:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday and walk for at least 20 minutes. Felicia will moderate this program, which will take place rain or shine! Dress for the elements but if it rains or is too cold, we will walk indoors. No registration is needed- come and join us!

One of the best comradeship and fun with fellow seniors is at St. Paul's Senior Center! We are located in the cottages at St. Paul's Recreation Complex and are open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for any person aged 60 or above who is a resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City.

Forum On Medicare

The Garden City Public Library will host "2009 Regulations on Medicare and Medicaid", the second in a series of Senior Connections Public Forums, on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 1:30 - 3 PM. The presenter will be Diane Graham, the Nassau County Coordinator for the Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP). Ms. Graham will give a PowerPoint presentation and show a film regarding the current regulations. This presentation will be followed by an open discussion with the audience.

This Spring Senior Connections is holding a series of informative and interesting Public Forums on topics related to life in the senior years. The third program focusing on "Education in Retirement" will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009. All of the programs will be conducted in the large meeting room from 1:30 PM to 3 PM on the Library's lower level. Refreshments will be served and an elevator is available. No registration is required.
