Brian Murtagh and Kathleen Young. Edward and Barbara Murtagh of Boca Raton, Florida, former residents of Stewart Manor, NY, and John and Susan Young of Flushing, NY are happy to announce the engagement of their children Kathleen Mary Young to Captain Brian E. Murtagh, United States Army.

Miss Young received her Bachelor of Education Degree from SUNY at Cortland and taught in the New York Public School system. Captain Murtagh received his Bachelor of Science Degree from The United States Military Academy at West Point and is currently assigned to the 82nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, NC and was awarded the Purple Heart after having been wounded in a 2007 tour of duty in Iraq.

The couple will be married in May 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Flushing, New York with a reception at Terrace on the Park. The couple will reside in Fayetteville, NC.
