The Spring season continued with positive results on a somewhat gusty day last Monday at NHP High School as the girls took on the host school, as well as Calhoun. Winning 10 of the 16 events at the tri meet, the Lady Trojans won the meet by a score of 94.5 to 46 to 26.5, with Calhoun taking second. The victories bring the girls record to a perfect 5-0. More ... The GCAA Men's Association would like to invite everyone to the Uptown Grill for the final game of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament for their annual fundraiser. The date is Monday, April 6th. The party will start at 8:30 with game time at approximately 9:20. Donation at the door is $100 with all proceeds going to the TMA. The GCAA Travel Basketball program just concluded another successful season in the very competitive Island Garden Super League. Here's some of the highlights: GRANVILLE 6TH BOYS finished their season in strong fashion and qualified for the playoffs. More ... More ... This past weekend the Garden City U12 Patriettes traveled to Brentwood to start their spring LIJSL season. After having lost a contested battle the week before in the waldbaums cup the girls came ready to play. This weeks match started with both teams working hard to try to get that always important first goal. More ... In a rematch of the 2008 Nassau County Class B boys lacrosse final the Garden City Trojans and the South Side Cyclones met at Adelphi University on Wednesday evening March 25th. Although this was now a non league game, the intensity was still there. South Side came out strong with a number of scoring attempts on Garden City goalkeeper Chris Connors but Connors made save after save. More ... The Girls 6th to 8th Grade Division enjoyed its most successful season to date this year. Participation among the girls was very high and the competition was fierce. The two teams who finished 1st and 2nd in the regular season standings - the Storm, coached by Greg Raphael, and the Sparks, led my coach Mike Falco, advanced to the finals. More ... Coming off 2008's 21-0 record and the Class B state title the Garden City Trojans girl's lacrosse team started the 2009 season with three straight wins, including a 19-6 victory over Calhoun on March 27th. Senior Caroline McTiernan scored four goals and had four assists against Calhoun. Lauren Terracciano also had four goals and one assist. More ... The South Side Cyclones of Rockville Centre traveled to Garden City on Wednesday March 25 to take on the Trojans in a boys JV lacrosse game. Garden City won the game 6-4.
