The following Garden City, NY residents have been named to the fall 2008 Dean's list at Hofstra University: Caitlin Donohue, John Grymes and Alison Ponzo.

Amanda Cento, a 2008 graduate of Garden City High School, has been named to the dean's list at Marist College for the fall semester. A student must maintain a grade point average of 3.40 or high on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition at Marist College.

Gettysburg College has announced that the following students have been placed on the Dean's Commendation list for outstanding academic achievement in the Fall 2008 semester:

• Edward Clark Denby of Garden City is a senior at Gettysburg College.

• Patrick Evan Doherty of Garden City is a junior at Gettysburg College.

• Anthony Pastore of Garden city is a senior at Gettysburg College.

Students with a quality point average of 3.33 or higher for a semester's work are placed on the Dean's Commendation List.

Dean's List

The following students were named to the Dean's List at Ithaca College for the fall 2008 term:

• Karen Peck , daughter of Garden City residents Lawrence and Jean Peck, was named to the Dean's List at Ithaca College's School of Business. To receive this award, this student must have attained a minimum grade point average of 3.5.

• Timothy Herbst, son of Garden City residents Frederick and Carolyn Herbst, was named to the Dean's List at Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. To receive this award, this student must have attained a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
