GCAA 2nd Grade Basketball Scores Again!

2009-03-27 / Sports

The GCAA 2nd grade boy's basketball season closed the books on yet another successful season. Coordinator Douglas O'Connor was fortunate to have a dedicated and talented group of volunteers to coach the nearly 75 second grade boys who signed up. Our second graders enjoyed playing amongst their friends and peers in a team format comprised of six teams. Full court games ranged from 15 to 20 minute running halves and all teams were competitive and fairly balanced. Player's time was equally distributed and all second graders contributed and participated. Our GCAA second graders showcased the uniforms of their favorite NBA teams and were taught sportsmanship and rules with talented and dedicated student referees.

Special thanks to Coaches Cashwell, Schmidt, Sullivan, Coppola, Lambraia, and Hammersley for their time and effort. Parent feedback suggests that our GCAA second grade program is the standard for youth basketball in Garden City.
