Radiosurgery In Early Prostate Cancer

Winthrop-University Hospital's Advances in Cancer Care educational series will offer a free program, "Using CyberKnife(r) Radiosurgery in Early Prostate Cancer," on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 7:00 PM. It will be held at Winthrop's Community Outreach Center, located at 101 Mineola Boulevard, at the corner of Second Street in Mineola.

Alan J. Katz, MD, Chief of Radiation Oncology at Winthrop-University Hospital, will discuss the benefits of CyberKnife(r) radiosurgery in early prostate cancer, explaining the evaluation process and how it delivers radiation to the precisely targeted area sparing healthy tissue. Find out why positive results are achieved during fewer treatment sessions, as well as how treatment courses are determined. A question and answer period will follow the lecture.
