Back L to R Coaches TJ Michon and Chris DeSantis
Middle L to R Jack Tiedemann, John Marcellino, Morgan Lafont, Andrew DeSantis, Kyle Steinbach
Front L to R Drew Thompson, Lucas Franco, Mark Michon, Garrett Going, Nolan Pappas The 3rd Grade GCAA Celtics beat the Pistons 19-17 in the exciting 3rd grade championship game. The season started with 8 coaches at a draft in an effort to make our teams and even and fair. The season ended with a 2 point contest. Games were close throughout the campaign as all our players improved their skills dramatically over the course of the year. Special thanks go out to John Gallagher and Brendan Wootten, coordinators of this grade.
Throughout the season, the Celtics performed well as a team with each and every player contributing to the team's success. The squad was led by John Griffith's ability to steal the ball, Matthew Granville's strong moves to the basket and Derek Tang's shooting touch. Joey McDonagh provided tenacious defense while Joshua Taylor hid the boards with reckless abandon. Christopher Gharagozlo, Brendan Regan and Sal Ingrassia contributed outside shooting. Michael McCauley, John Macchiarola and Andrew Tang made sure the ball moved quickly in an effort to keep the opposing defense off balance.

In addition, Morgan Lafont provided the defensive strength of a big man in the middle, Garrett Going slashed to the basket and Kyle Steinbach blocked any shots in his vicinity. Drew Thompson's ability to pass the ball, Nolan Pappas' inclination to steal the ball, Jack Tiedemann's strong moves inside the paint and John Marcellino's presence on the boards made the Pistons a formidable opponent all year.
With all the excitement of the 2008-2009 GCAA season, the boys are looking forward to an even better 2009-2010 season as 4th graders.
