At the second winter meeting of Yak & Snack, YAs will be discussing the book, Ender's Game. In this book, the earth is under attack. Aliens are posed for a final assault. The survival of the human species depends on the brilliant, ruthless and cunning strategies of Ender Wiggin. This great Science Fiction book is full of surprises. Are there any possibilities in reality? Come to the discussion on Saturday, March 21st at 3 PM. Snacks will be served. Sign ups began on Saturday, February 21st and books are available at the YA desk. You may call or email to reserve a copy of the book.

TEENS & TOTS STORYTIME AT THE POOL

TRAINING SESSIONS

Spring is just around the corner and it's time to start planning for the summer. The Young Adult Department in cooperation with the Garden City Department of Recreation will again be offering Teens & Tots Storytime in the picnic area of the pool on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in July and the first week of August. If you are in 5th grade, this is the first time you will be eligible to be a reader! To be a part of this program, you need to be trained.

The Library will be offering training sessions, one for reading and book selection and a second for crafts and activities, in March and April. Training for session I will be given on March 21 at 10AM, April 16 at 10 AM, and April 22 at 4 PM. Training for session II will be given March 21 at 1:30 PM, April 16 at 12:30 PM, and April 22 at 7PM. Please note that the March 21st date is a change. Registration began Wednesday, February 25.

Participants should register for one meeting of each session. Those YAs in older grades who did not take advantage of training in previous years are invited to sign up and become part of this valued community service. As for all YA programs, you are invited to register in person at the YA desk, by phone at 742-8405 or by email to Mrs. Kelly at mkelly@gardencitypl.org.
