Mark Herman On Sunday afternoon, March 22 at 3:00 p.m., the New York Theatre Organ Society will present popular theatre organist Mark Herman in concert at the Mighty Theatre pipe organ in Darby Auditorium at Chaminade High School, located at Saville Road and Jackson Avenue in Mineola. The program will include a selection of popular standards, and will feature music from Broadway, Hollywood and the Great American Song Book. Joining Mark Herman with selections from the Broadway state will be vocalist Anthony Snitker, and musical theatre major at Columbia College in Chicago.

Organist Mark Herman is among the most popular and talented young musicians on the theatre organ concert scene today. A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and currently a student at DePaul University in Chicago, Mark began studying piano and classical organ at a very young age, and expanded his studies to include the theatre organ while in elementary school. In 2004 at age sixteen, Mark entered and won the American Theatre Organ Society Young Organist Competition. Since then, he has toured throughout this country and abroad performing in concert at many major theatre organ concert venues.

THE MIGHTY THEATRE PIPE ORGAN AT CHAMINADE HIGH SCHOOL, originally installed in the Queens Village Theatre in the 1920's, was moved to the Chaminade auditorium in 1979. the organ contains more than 1,200 pipes in addition to percussion instruments and special sound effects used for movie accompaniment. It is the only play theatre pipe organ on Long Island.
